Marsha Baumgarner is responsible for managing the closing department and providing day-to-day legal advice to the company.
Before joining Beech Street, Ms. Baumgarner was vice president and deputy general counsel at Fannie Mae, where she managed a legal team and provided counsel to the Fannie Mae Multifamily Mortgage Business division on issues including product development, management and negotiation of selling and servicing agreements with multifamily lenders and debt counterparties, and agency regulatory matters. Ms. Baumgarner and her team were critical in development of the new Fannie Mae Multifamily form loan documents and the consolidation of various guides into the current Multifamily Selling and Servicing Guide.
During her 12-year career at Fannie Mae, Ms. Baumgarner was also the lead lawyer for MBS pool swap acquisitions, new products and other business initiatives, and was closely involved in the development of credit and underwriting requirements.
Marsha received her Bachelor’s of Science in Business with an emphasis in Finance from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. She graduated summa cum laude and a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society. She received her Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law of American University. Marsha is licensed to practice law in Maryland and is a member of the American Bar Association (Real Estate and Business Law Sections).
